The NSS unit of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), School of Commerce and School of Computer Science & IT visited Tilaknagar Police Station Sub-Division of Mico Layout on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2022. The occasion intended to raise awareness about the status and dignity of women among the students under the theme, Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow.
The NSS women volunteers greeted and wished female faculty members and police staff with sweets and garlands. The police officials at the station had arranged the people-friendly station program with the NSS unit of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). Police officials elaborated how they intend to help with the public issues with special reference to women's protection and safety.
NSS volunteers consisting of 20 female students along with faculty members of School of Commerce, Dr. Riya Singh and Ms. Ayesha Samreen, and NSS co-ordination in charge Mr. Vainik, visited the station. The police shared their child-friendly policies with the students and explained the function of a police station. ACP Mr. Karibasavane Gowda, and Circle Inspector Shri. Girish offered valuable knowledge and thoughts on women’s safety.
