Does CS require Maths?


Yes. Basic Maths is required to pursue a Company Secretary course; however, an advanced understanding of Mathematics is not mandatory.

Can I do CS with BCom?


Yes. Students can pursue a professional course such as Bachelor of Commerce (Honours / Honours with Research), Coaching in Company Secretary (CS), and Certified Programme in General Management. This programme combines academic studies with specialised CS coaching, ensuring structured preparation for CS exams conducted by ICSI.

Can I complete CS in 2 years?


No. CS cannot be finished in 2 years due to compulsory training of 21 months and three levels of exams (CS Entrance, CS Executive, and CS Professional). But those exempt from training can finish the course in 2 years if they clear all three exams within that time.

Can a CS become CEO?


Yes. Becoming a CEO after being a Company Secretary is possible, though it requires more than a CS qualification. Students have to gain business-related experience and knowledge, network with business people, and pursue a management degree like a Master of Business Administration to reach such a top-level position.

Can I do BCom and CS together?


Yes. BCom and CS can be pursued together, as both courses complement each other. Many universities offer integrated BCom CS programmes, combining academic studies with specialised CS coaching to help students efficiently prepare for the CS exams conducted by ICSI while completing their BCom degree.

Can I take CS with Commerce?


Yes. Students can take CS after completing their 10+2 in the Commerce stream.

What is a CS course salary?


The CS course fee varies by stage:

  • Foundation – INR 3,600
  • Executive – INR 7,000
  • Professional – INR 12,000

Who is eligible for CS?


To enrol in the Foundation Programme (CSEET), candidates must have completed Class 12 in any stream, except Fine Arts, from a recognised board or equivalent. Students must have cleared the Foundation Programme or CSEET for the Executive Programme.

Alternatively, graduates and postgraduates (excluding Fine Arts) are eligible for direct entry into the Executive Programme level. The Professional Programme, the final stage of the CS course, requires students to have successfully passed the Executive Programme.

Yes. Being a CS in India can be a high-paying job, especially with experience and expertise, with salaries ranging from Rs. 3,00,000 to Rs. 50,00,000+ annually.
