JAIN-UI 2021

Cleanliness Drive by NSS Volunteers under the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0

To encourage the spirit of cleanliness, NSS volunteers from JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), School of Commerce and School of Computer Science and IT, participated in the cleanliness drive organised by the institution under the initiative of Swachh Bharat Mission on 8th April 2022. The Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) emanates from the vision of the government articulated in the address of the President of India. It was a tribute to the ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

During this drive, the students cleaned the School of Commerce campus in Jayanagar 9th block and its surrounding streets. The NSS volunteers participated in creating awareness among the public by holding placards and informing them about the importance of clean and healthy surroundings.

Around 50 students volunteered in the drive. The cleanliness drive went on for two hours, where students showed full enthusiasm in cleaning the street and disposing of wet and dry waste separately. The volunteers urged locals to take up proper disposal and made them aware of the benefits of cleanliness. The event was coordinated by Mahesh V.

The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a significant cleanliness campaign launched on 2nd October 2014 across India as a national movement.
