Covid-19 Booster Dose Vaccination Drive at JAIN

The majority of current infections and COVID-19 cases are observed in unvaccinated people. If breakthroughs occur in vaccinated persons, symptoms are less severe than those in unvaccinated ones. However, emerging data consistently show a decline in vaccine effectiveness against SARS-CoV2 infection and COVID-19 with time since vaccination and a more significant decline in older adults. Restoring vaccination effectiveness from that judged insufficient is the goal of a booster dose. The booster dose camps aim to enhance and boost India's fight against the SARs-CoV-2 virus and add another layer of safety.

To combat the Covid-19 pandemic and ensure the safety of students and staff, the NSS wing of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) organised Covishield and Covaxin booster dose camp at the campus on 4th August 2022. The drive aimed to boost the uptake of Covid-19 precaution doses. The NSS wing conducted the camp to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India's Independence and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The booster doses were available free of cost to all teaching and non-teaching staff above 18 years of age. Around 300 students volunteered and participated in the drive.
