Blood donation is a tremendous humanitarian service and contribution to society. To celebrate 75 years of independence and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, NSS volunteers of JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), in association with NSS Wing and Rotary Bengaluru Midtown conducted a blood donation camp - Sampradana. This one-day camp was organized on 28th July 2022 at Jain School of Commerce and Computer Sciences, Jayanagar campus.
The camp was inaugurated by Rtn Atul Kaushal - President, Rotary Bengaluru Midtown, presided by Sri. Ravindra Bhandari - Vice President, JGI Group, Professor Sridhar Murthy - Director, Academic and Planning, Dr. Rajani Jayaram- Head of Student Welfare, Dr. Aravind Kumar - NCC, Ex-officer and Dr. Sreenivasaiah R - NSS coordinator.
The blood donation camp was an effort to motivate people to come forward and donate blood. Students and staff were made aware of how blood donation can save countless lives every year. Around 350 volunteers came forward to donate blood during the camp, including students, teaching, and non-teaching staff. National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences collected 80 units, Lions Blood Centre collected 97 units, and Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health collected nearly 79 units of blood through this campaign. Overall, the camp was a big success as a total of 256 units of blood was donated voluntarily.
