"The quickest way to resolve criticism and gender bias is to educate people on the values of understanding and acceptance, teaching love instead of hatred against one another." JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), School of Commerce under its student society, Antaral - Pause and Be the Change, organised Garv - The Pride Event on 27th July 2022. It was conducted to spread awareness about the LGBTQ community diversely. The motive of the event was to promote self-affirmation, dignity, equality, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people as a social group.
During the event, two games were conducted - twister and tic-tac-toe. In the twister game, two groups competed with each other. The winner group got a prize voucher, and the other group answered the questions related to the LGBTQ community. In the tic-tac-toe, two groups of five players took turns marking the spaces in three-by-three grids. The winning team placed the three of their marks in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal row and got vouchers for The Original Café, the sponsors. The other team read the facts related to the LGBTQ community.
Antaral - Pause & Be the Change, took a small step to bring awareness about equality among all genders. As a forum, we encourage people to come out and be themselves and voice out their choices. Acceptance is a stepping stone to a better future.
