CONFERENCE REPORT

A virtual International Conference on “Reimagining Entrepreneurship and Corporate Governance in the Digital Era” was hosted by the Faculty of Management, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) with an aim to boost entrepreneurial and corporate governance in the digital-driven business world. 

Dr. Dinesh Nilkant, Director, School of Commerce, in his opening address stated the importance of multitasking in the context of corporate governance and entrepreneurship.

Honourable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Raj Singh, JAIN (Deemed–to–Be- University) addressed the gathering and appreciated the organizing team for taking up the contemporary topic for the conference.  He recalled the scams and reforms of the past for the various reasons which lead to collapse of the stock market and businesses. He highlighted the importance of innovations in the crisis. Corporate governance can happen with organizations following the guidelines and rules voluntarily. Brought out the different dimensions of Corporate governance and entrepreneurship. Sir wished all the participants to make use of the conference learning.

Mr. Alex McDougall, 3iQ Managing Director, Co-founder of Bicameral Ventures, Greater Toronto Area, Canada delivered the keynote address on “Virtual Excellence and Harnessing Power of Innovations in Entrepreneurial Ventures.” He covered human centric entrepreneurship in business. Gave an outlook of different social networking sites which is making human brain depend on the technology for knowledge and information to understand the contexts. Spoke about venture philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, B corporation, impact of investing, social ITT and stakeholder maximization. 

A Panel discussion on "New Frontiers of Corporate Governance, Leadership and Entrepreneurship in Digital Era” was moderated by Dr. Rajdeep Manwani, Professor and Coordinator, School of Commerce, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). The panellists include: Mr. J P Shivakumaraswamy, COO at Sanria Engineering & Consulting, Co-founder of Changepond Technologies; Dr. Kabaly P Subramanian is a senior faculty with Arab Open University, Oman, Muscat and Adjunct Professor with VIT University, India; Ms. Veena Samartha, Executive Director & CEO at VeCrear Technologies Private Limited; Dr. Samir Kagalkar, Founder of eMBArkers, Alumni of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and expert in the field of Strategy & Policy.

A total of 130 research papers were selected by the review committee for the international conference for presentation and publication. The conference ended with a valedictory session. The best paper awards were announced and the following authors won the “Best Paper Award”: S. B Venkatesh Kiruba and Nagini R, Dr. Y. Fathima and Dr. K. Sangeetha and Chinna Muthu.
