A five-day online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was organized by the Samshodhana, School of Commerce, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru from 19-23 April, 2021 to introduce teaching community to identify and learn novice tools and techniques suitable to work on Microsoft Excel. The programme aimed at training teaching community on data coding-recoding, data validation, creating models, descriptive statistics and hypothesis testing using MS Excel.
MS Excel is a powerful analytical tool that aids researchers analyse big and complex data and understand data trends and patterns, structure and create visual representation. With powerful filtering, sorting, and search tools, one can take turbo decisions.
The key speaker for the event was Dr. Rupesh Kumar Sinha who serves as NASSCOM Licensed Master Trainer and Microsoft Certified Professional in Visual Basic, Windows Architecture.
The event spanned over five days where Day one covered topics like how to generate random number, Conditional formatting, creating drop down, data validation. Day two was about how to do data re-coding, creating model using Excel. Day three showed members how to work on creating model and T test analysis. On day four participants learned an exciting themes on Anova test, Post hoc analysis and descriptive statistics. On day five, participants learned to create Google sheets. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Renu Rathi. There were 81 participants in total over the five-day session.
Participants gave a warm feedback and were highly benefitted by the sessions that covered trending topics in MS Excel and related domains.
