A 5 Day Faculty Development Programme On Advance Excel For Research

As Microsoft Excel serves as powerful analytical tool for researchers to discover trends and patterns in big data, a five-day online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was organized by the Faculty Research Cell - Samshodhana, School of commerce, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Bengaluru from 19 to 23 April, 2021. 

MS Excel allows to create the visual representation of data and information to fire-up decision making through bar charts, column charts and graphs. It automatically revises the charts and graphs, once the data gets modified. Tables help to classify different entities according to their characteristics and features.

Through five days, attendants were immersed in Basics of Excel, references, data re-coding, doing calculations, creating drop down, data validation, application of conditional formatting, working with charts, creating models using excel, descriptive analytics, hypothesis testing:  one Sample t-test, independent sample t-test, paired sample t-test, hypothesis testing: ANOVA and post hoc analysis, and Google sheet.

The guest of the Dr. Rupesh Kumar Sinha, NASSCOM Licensed Master Trainer and Microsoft Certified Professional in Visual Basic, Windows Architecture, delivered an illuminating talk on the importance of analytics, operations management, supply chain management, advanced excel, cognos, tableau, Watson analytics, SPSS, etc. 

 All the sessions were informative. Participants greatly benefitted from the insights of Dr. Rupesh Kumar Sinha. The FDP received an overwhelming response from all the participants.
